About 'acceptance rate for university of chicago'|Tuesday, November 4th, 2008, Chicago, Illinois: Text of President-elect Barack Obama's victory speech in Chicago
A previous article talked about the six highest ranking universities and colleges from across America. This current article wishes to continue this hopefully interesting topic and bring you face to face with some other impressive college names, fees and tuitions,1 and acceptance rates. Some of you might end up studying in one of these places, so it never hurts to be prepared. Massachusetts Institute of Technology or MIT, as most of you know it, also ranks high, featuring an acceptance rate of 11 percent and a tuition of $39,212. As you can see, tuitions are not necessarily strictly related to the actual ranking of a school; there are schools such as Yale, Princeton or Harvard that have lower fees and tuitions as compared to MIT. So the actual costs of a school do not necessarily reflect its true value, but rather the location of the school, its number of students and its necessities in covering administrative and school faculty expenses. Nevertheless, this institute is absolutely amazing, as there seems to always be something going on here in terms of new technologies being invented or tested. If you do not plan on actually going there on your own and taking a tour, you will be missing out on a lot of things. California Institute of Technology has a pretty impressive fall acceptance rate of 15 percent and fees that rise up to $36,282. If these numbers do not really share anything interesting with you, how about learning that CalTech scientists have managed to show a link between attention and self-control, or that the engineers there have created a one-way transmission system for sound waves? I bet you would really like to get in and be a part of all of these amazing discoveries, especially if you love science and technology. The University of Chicago seems to be more reasonable when it comes to its acceptance rate in the fall; in 2009, this rate was 27 percent. As for the tuition, you should be preparing around $41,091 if you plan on getting in. The university is going to host the 11th World Conference on Emerging Technology and Services, which is an international forum that is being coordinated by the Emerging Information and Technology Conference. Other similar activities are going on around the campus all year round, so you should definitely check out their amazing academic offers. Duke University ranks really close to Chicago University; it has an acceptance rate of 19 percent and a tuition of up to $40,472. Duke offers students a wide array of choices with schools such as the Trinity College of Arts and Sciences, Divinity School, the School of Law, the School of Medicine or Nursing and many more. Northwestern University is another proud member of the "clan" on the highest ranking universities in America; it features a fall acceptance rate of 27 percent and tuition and fees of up to $40,247. Weinberg College of Arts and Science, the School of Continuing Studies, Medill School of Journalism and Henry and Leigh Bienen School of Music are just some of the schools and colleges the university displays. |
